A good VFM travelzoom digital camera

I urgently need a good quality travelzoom. Maximum resolution or zoom is not a criteria. Around 10 MPX and 10X optical zoom OK. But quality of the pictures and video it takes matters. Budget around 10K but can go up to 15K.

All suggestions welcome.

Something that is commonly available and will give you decent results is the Canon sx150. It will come to around 10k.
You could also check out travel zoom recommendations on dpreview.com. You will get good inputs there.

edit: i used to see bnib pieces of pana fz35 for 12k on ebay. If so, thats a great deal.
