A Newbie calling for the experts!!!

Hey Guys,
I visited couple of shops including "Sound and Vision" but none mentioned abt any diff between the AV receiver and the Int amplifier. So i assumed that the speaker needs to be added to the AV receiver. Hence the question abt the Yam-365/465.
But if i go with a Int amplifier, would there be no chance of an upgrade later. Guys can you please suggest some brands/models for Int amplifier.
Thanks for all your help. Have a good day

Kurt, if you are going to use your system 90% for music, go for stereo integrated amp, cdp/dvdp and speakers or powered/active speakers and a cdp/dvdp.

But the best you could do first is, wherever you are going for auditions listen to the same music on same player and speakers, asking them to do replace the avr with an integrated amp the second time. I guess you will be able to gauge the difference properly then.

I spent almost exactly that amount Kurt on my stereo setup.

Speakers - 22k - Usher S520
CD Player - 9k - used Marantz CD63SE
Amplifier - 10k - used NAD C320BEE

There are tons of options in that budget, but for 90% music don't go for a home theater or a multi-channel setup, the quality you'll get will be much much worse than a stereo setup.
