Active speakers for music available in India?

Hey friends..
Last year i spent a lot of time on hfivision and other places on the net looking for good active spearkers which had audiophile quality sound, a lot of input options, ipod dock and easy setup.

Finally i settled for Aktimate Maxi from Alliance in Bbay, which were on sale at that time. also i ordered a E-mu 0204 usb dac from US.
Overall turned out to be a reasonably good setup.

But what i am looking for here is a true active(read powered) hi-fi setup which can compete with similarly priced passive+amp setup. And i need options.

The meridian M6 is about 5 lakhs in delhi. @ sound of music
There is also the B&O beolab 9 for about 5 lakhs in delhi. - again sound of music i think..
There is a also a Linn activ system with linn majik 140 and linn majik dsm for about 5 lakhs in bbay.

But somehow they dont feel right for 5 lakhs? Are there any other better options for under 5 lakhs available here.

Please list them and comment on them here!

And has anyone heard the Beolab 9 and the Meridian M6? Are these truly HiFi or jus a gimmick?

Also thos of you interested in active speakers look at the new dynaudio xeo active powered wireless floorstander and bookshelves just announced.

seems like a true Hi-fi soultion for active and wireless audio from any source.

Dont know when they will b available here for an audition.

For good active speakers, prices could start at about one lakh for a small stereo active speaker system and could go up to several lakhs depending on how much SPL you want your speaker system to deliver. you can find good actives in ur price range like Klein Hummel O300, Genelec 8260 (little extra), atc actives like 16A and higher model, Focal 6BE twins, etc.
Though these are monitors used in studios normally but with good recordings and aproper DAC , you will get to hear the sound the engineer has recorded.
