Tohru Aizawa Quartet - Tachibana, Vol. 1 (1975)

In 1975, Japanese businessman Ikujiroh Tachibana had a group of young jazz musicians record an entire album in his home studio which he then pressed on vinyl and passed around as his business card to promote his hotels. BBE recently reissued this record.

RIP to trumpeter Jaimie Branch. One of the brightest stars in the current jazz scene gone at just 39. Do give her 'Fly or Die' series of albums a listen if you haven't already.

This is the complete 1970s recordings of the iconic spiritual jazz, soul, funk group The Pyramids. Includes 3 studio albums and one live recording. Super hard to find and super expensive since they were privately pressed. Finally collected in a box with a great booklet too.

I have a spare copy of this fabulous box set too if anyone is interested :)
