Hi Guys,

After finally picking up my Wharfedale Diamond 9.2 bookshelves, I am looking for a decent budget amp.(First Step)

I have following Amps on offer, please suggest which one is a better deal and would suit my speakers.

1) Yamaha A-520 - Price 7K - Age : Maybe 1988 :
Specs: Power : 75W @ 8 ohms @ 20Hz~20kHz @ 0.01% THD per channel

2) Denon PMA 250 - Price 7K - Age : Maybe 3 year old:
Specs: 30 W @ 8 ohms

Or a Brand new Norge 2060 at 9.5k?

thank you in advance for your suggestions.

PS3 is the source :) Haven't bought any dedicated CD player for the time being, maybe will pick one later if PS3 does not satisfy.

Your amplifier would have to support digital in. If the Yamaha has optical in then go for it I would say.

hahaha.. MPW , thank you for bringing the question of source. Orelse I would have been stuck with a amp, which I could not use. :)

Can you suggest any budget amp, which has a digital in (Optical in)

Maybe some kind of Toslink to RCA converter would do the trivk? Or, PS3-HDMI-TV-RCA-Amp? Naa, its going to be really messy.

thanks Shuv, i think A Toslink RCA Converter would be the best solution,

But lets rethink, the PS3-HDMI-TV-RCA- AMP equation, then wouldn't I be able to listen to all songs on TV also in better way(Amped up on my Daimonds9.2) ;)
