Dolby Atmos requires the right level of components. Just adding 2 more speakers to a 5.x setup won't get you there. Atmos speakers are specialised such as the one from Pioneer (Andrew Jones) design.

My suggestion is to save money and get true Atmos speakers.

A Dolby Atmos capable AVR is the only requirement assuming the user has source..

Just adding 2 more speakers to a 5.x setup won't get you there.

Adding 2 speakers in the right location (height/ceiling) is all that is needed for a minimum atmos experience..

Atmos speakers are specialised such as the one from Pioneer (Andrew Jones) design.

If you are referring to Atmos Add on speakers, it has been discussed & enlightened that they are compromised solution..

My suggestion is to save money and get true Atmos speakers.

Any speaker in the right location should work for atmos..

My wild guess from my limited knowledge is....

If we put any good quality "full range speakers" in the ceiling....
The Dolby Atmos AVR itself decides what kind of signal to be sent to them. And speakers should produce the effect accordingly....I am guessing though ... :lol:

Nope.. The speaker should receive the signal as it is from AVR and would play to the best of its abilities..

Since you already have the satellites handy, you can do experimentation (If you have the AVR) which doesn't cost you much (1K).. When you have enough budget for ceiling speaker, you can upgrade...
