article on diy in DNA Sunday

Thanks for the link - I tried searching for the article, but it wasn't indexed in google news or even the online DNA India, which seemed to be mostly Mumbai news.

George, that's a nice audio room, BTW. I wish I had that much uncluttered space.

congrats george! lets hope you inspire more diy enthusiasts. i can see the basement's undergone quite a cleaning up :) looks lovely now! particularly like the earthy colour of the floor.

Glad you noticed..We put some terracotta tiles in that area. I took one system out and have placed it in a bedroom to reduce the clutter.

Hi Sachi

I'm looking forward to hosting you at my place on your next trip..

Cheers

Thanks Anil..

I got stands made and within a week of shifting to my new house, the building contractor in his eagerness to show off this house to another potential client, blundered around like a wild boar, and came far too close to it for my comfort, accidentally knocking it off it's stand. It fell to the ground, and left me traumatized.

Luckily barring some scratches, there's no damage. It's now mated to a 28wpc EL 34 pp integrated amp and sitting in my basement.

My Scanspeak 2 ways are playing sweet music and I am really enjoying them. They are connected to a Transcedant Sound tube per and an AKSA N (Nirvana upgrade) 55wpc ss power amp, with out a sub. The mid woofer has very good low frequency sound(SS 18W 8545), and only now do I appreciate why it is rated as one of the best mids around. The tweeter is also very good good(D 2905 9300)

Good mornign Ustaad.

By the time you come here on your long threatened trip, my lift will be commissioned, so all you need to do is to stumble into it( hopefully without shoving an arm or a leg into the driver, on the way) and press a button to reach the bar! There the maal will be waiting for release..

I tried hard to spot, but exactly from which spring does the purana maal flows? Or do we sprint upstairs each time for a refill? Inconvenient after a couple of burra's I must say ;)

Wow...there will be buttons to be pressed. Hope not very old ;) I am tempted. Soft cone tweeters and buttons :licklips:

. You senior folks are a riot. Keep it flowing...the puraana single malts and the humour I mean:D

I always thought George was planning way ahead for his old age. Now, I know why he has a lift at his place:D.

Compared to me Ashok is a baba, please dont call him a senior!

BTW, we spent a very pleasant evening over drinks and dinner at Jamshedpur a few months ago with some mutual friends( one of whom was a PhD from Wharton), where four of us tried and almost polished off a bottle of 100 Pipers, but couldnt-there was a 6AM round of golf the next morning and we had to remain clearheaded :ohyeah:
