Asus O!Play Mini with DolbyTHD decoding, DTS HD-MA for just 3500!!

Can someone describe the sound quality (audio) when connected with any integrated stereo amplifier?

Well, I suppose it should be fine as long as you do not use the analog (RCA) connectors from the O!Play mini; rather use the digital ones (optical / Coaxial) read somewhere that the internal DAC is not that great (not surprising at this price range actually)

No, from what I know.

any media player including any conventional PC can play SBS 3D file, which is what is mostly floating all over internet. All you need to have a 3D capable display and glasses.

yes, This player supports multiple partitions on single disk.

This player supports USB Hub as well, I have connected 4 port powered USB Hub and connected 4 drives to the USB Hub. It is very convenient to have all the disks connected.

Great audio might be a problem AFAIK the player doesn't support full DTS. This is what it does:

DTS 2.0 + Digital Out means the device has the capability to decode the DTS stream, then down mix and output 2ch audio to be played back via stereo speakers. Digital Out means the device can also output the DTS bitstream via Digital outputs (S/PDIF or HDMI) to an AV receiver to decode DTS audio.

The setup works as expected. Connecting to HDMI to the TV and optical to my speakers via DAC and Amp I can see great video with great audio :)

EDIT: The player supports DTS but not DTS HD MA.

Hi all, Planning to get the Asus mini by this weekend. I don't understand the above quote. I have a Denon avr1909 which can decode DTS-HDMA. Can or Will the Asus mini really output a DTS-MA stream or not?
Or should I look for some other media player. Kindly suggest one for less than 7k max.
Thanks,
Samuel

Asus oplay mini wont be bitstream or passthrough DTS HDMA, it will output them as core DTS. And it can do Dolby TruHD.

My practical experience is that it can bitstream neither.
I know, the specs mention TruHD bitstreaming...

Asus oplay is a good player. It plays 99% of the files i have thrown. I am using it for more than 2 yrs, its working great and for bluray i use my sony bdp. You can buy a 3d bdp for blurays.

How's the wdtv live . Have heard its up scaling is really great compared to asus. I also need to buy a media player ASAP as my xtreamer died down recently.
