Hi ,

I have bought the Asus Oplay TV Pro , but I am not able to view any tv channels , can someone ( here in Mumbai ) confirm if they are able to view the regular Cable channels via this unit .

The Oplay TV pro as the spec mentions works on DVB-T technology but i thought it shall be compatible to the regular cable tv line , to my surprise the unit cannot find any tv channels.

Pls suggest some solutions

All MSO used different encryption technique. because of this Hathway set top box will not work for Digicable as well as In cable net and vice-a-varsa.

That is the case no channels are detected.

I think what you can do is try to get the local cable wallah connection and use that to connect to your player. I hope it should list all the channels. As these channels are not encrypted your player should be able to identify. Almost all the DTH or the terrestial hathway kind of providers have there own way of encrypting the channels before beaming to the home and only their respective set-top boxes can decode this signal.
If not local cable channel you can try the DD channels antenna cable connected to your player. This should work.

Thanks

Thats what I have tried .Connected the Cable Line in the RF-IN of the Unit , the unit just wont find any channels , I mean at the end of Scan (TV Shows 100% Scanned) it wont be able to list even a single Channel .

I had already taken a replacement for the unit thinking it might be defective , but still even in this new unit I have the same problem ...So it is not the unit I am sure ..Just that the unit only supports FTA channels via DVB-T ...

All i am waiting is for a confirmation tht the unit is not backward compatible to the analog cable line .

The DVB-T on this player is for receiving FTA digital channels from satellites. You can use a small Ku band antenna like Doordarshan DTH or a C band antenna to receive signal. The RF-IN is for connecting the LNB.
