I did not realize the alternate plan was being worked out. I have anyway transferred the money. If we go the alternate way, we have to figure out the payment procedure for people who have already paid and for those who have not.

Since I could see that every one was (rightly) sitting tight on payment and I was only corresponding/talking to Danny & Sunit but nothing concrete has materialised, I did not find it fit to report of the happenings but now since you have already made payment, I realised that you guys need to be apprised of the happenings. Don't worry, those things can be worked out.

does it mean that ocean shipping may not actually work out? Which will rule out the cabinets as well.

I think many guys are having problem with the cost escalation on account of 35% of customs and duties and cost of USD vis--vis Indian Rupee, which stands at 52+ INR per USD.

While speaking to Sunit, I had mooted the idea of sourcing of the drivers from Peerless and crossover components and port from Danny in which case, cost per kit can be brought down substantially as only our local taxes i.e. VAT (Value Added Tax) and Octroi need to be paid.

He asked me to send mail which I sent but yet to hear from him. I also sent a PM to Danny just now and looking forward to hearing from him.

Nothing is concrete so let us not jump the gun. Even if the drivers are sourced from Peerless, other stuff like amps, port tubes, internal cables, screws etc and servo drivers and other such drivers not sourced from Peerless would have to come in a pallet.

That chap appears to be on tour always though he is interested. I'm also not perusing him vigorously as our consignment has not been shipped yet. Will keep you informed about the pricing after he sees the designs and works out his pricing.
