best possible FS and receiver for 1 lac budget For BASS lover

Hi Sausi,

I also listened to A7 with Denon X2000 today, that was definitely good. then they connected the polk sub also, which gave that decent enough punch for hiphops. I tried TSX 550, but didnt like it. A7 with sub gave me a smile than 550 with sub. But my further digging in this forum have pointed to audition MA rx6 and MS A6.
Could anyone pl suggest where I can audition these two in Bangalore as ARN doeant stock MA RX6 anymore.
Also I understood that chest breaking bass requires may be a minimum of more than 3 -4 lacs (with good clarity), as those cervin wega 12 / 15 inch woofers will bleed the ears in seconds (as per google search, dont know where on earth to audition them :)) . Anyways I have decided to add sub also at the earliest so that I can switch on the bass as and when I wish.:)
Also could anyone suggest which is the cheapest receiver which can decently fire A7 and A9, as for A9, he was saying we need a min of X4000 which will be in lacs ..

I auditioned PSB T6, but I would opt for A7 when doing the cost vs value proposition and it didnt ring a bell in me. Also I couldnt feel that wow factor in T6 and it was just that more money giving better performance (for me). I know they are good speakers, but I have striked it off. Also listened to JBL studio series, it was a studio series where I could easily hide behind it .. :)
Auditioned Revel F12. That was good, but he paired with a 80k HK receiver, making the set up go near to 2 lacs , and the 39k receiver was not doing much justice for revel.. So will do more auditioning in the coming week.. MARX6, wharfedale 10.7 and MS A6/8 inline next week..

when I was auditioning for my FS recently, found Heco Victa with a Marantz 6004 integrated amp delivering very good bass/ thump. You can audition this combo and see if its for your liking.

Audio Planet have the demo of MA RX6 ,it is in kormangala, beside BDA complex.try it there.

If you are a bass lover, you may want to audition MA RX8 which an additional bass driver compared to RX6. I would generally recommend RX6 over RX8 as I feel it a better and balanced speaker but if you are looking for more bass, RX8 would be preferable. Audio Planet, beside koramangala BDA (as pointed out by suresh) has both MS as well as MA speakers.

Thanks all for the reply, I will audition heco and rx8, but by any chance, is there any place in bangalore to audition cerwin wega ? I couldnt find it in google.

if you want more bass then look at Deftech BP8020ST Model.it has 8 inch sub-woofer with 150 watts class D amp.

It seems all speakers have increased their prices exorbitantly when compared to 2011 prices.. :(
I think MA RX6 is approx 90k and RX8 near to 120k ..
Anyways I cant spend more than 1.2 lacs for speaker and Receiver combined. So 90k for RX6 means I will have 30k for receiver, Is there any company which can fire RX6 with that budget? Which is the min required model which can decently fire RX6. Also suggest something for RX8 as well. Also while comparing RX6 and RTIA9, which one will be better for bass ?
Hows pioneer receiver ? I think its very price econmomical when compared to denon and marantz? Also is there any speaker in the range of 1 lacs which can sound decently with very less power ?

receivers will not be able to give you Bass that you are looking for and specially in the budget you are fishing. if music and Bass is your preference better look for an integrated Amp. The bass with recievers will be very loose with long through like cinema. I hope you understand the difference between cinematic and musical bass :).

there are few integrated in classified section. do consider a used better amp than new crap one. amps generally have a good life so dont be worried about it being used. i think i saw a used Marantz Pma6004

my 2 cents

While browsing through various sites, I found that MA RX6 and polk audio RTi A7 - both cost between 1000 - 1100 dollars in US, but in India A7 is near to 65k and RX6 near to 90k. Why is it priced so differently.:( Is there any dealer who sells it at less than 70 - 75 k in India ?

Have you considered a kit? Rythmik for example sells 15" kits that are in your price range. I say this because cost markup outside India is usually for the construction labor cost. A sub like this or two would probably give you the low end SPL and control you need.

You could probably get it done from someone if not assemble it yourself, but yes, undoubtedly it is more of a hassle than buying from a dealer.

I only said because quality subs have such a high markup compared to say, Rythmik.

RTI A7 is priced at USD 1000 i.e. 63K while RX is priced at 800 pounds i.e. 80K. The price differential is almost similar in india, taking the dealer premium, which is variable, in mind. I doubt you will get RX6 for 70K-75K as that is less then even UK price at current exchange rates. Indian dealers always put a premium (20% - 60%) on the MRP in foreign countries unfortunately. I want to buy MA Platinum series BS and this price rise because of weak rupee has affected by budget badly :(. With the news reports showing further gloom, I am not very hopeful of rupee going stronger and there being a price reduction in near future.

The best price I could get for Rx6 was 85k about 2 months back. Shipping, customs and rupee depreciation adds to the cost of the product relative to the international markets.

I am still to audition MA RX6. But out of the speakers I auditioned now, I like Focal 726, which was slightly above 1 lac. Focal 82 series was going above 1.2 - 1.3 lacs. I also liked RTi A7. Yet to audition A9.
I didnt like much KEF, Klipch, PSB, Dali (was good, but I prefer Focal over it).

Could someone give their suggestions about 726. How it is when compared to others, and whether its VFM or do they charge highly when compared to US markets?

Also amonst A9, MA RX6 and Focal 726 - which one is the most accepted for better bass..

Focal is good in vocals and mids. compare to 700 series 800 is best, but costly . I can vote for RX6 for bass.even MX6 also more than 1lac bcz of dollar.

if you want more bass, you can see danavox VF101. it has 2 8 1/2 inch drivers. before go to buy check this speakers and decide. you may be like this speakers.
