hello friends

I am setting up a 2 channel stereo system .
I have already posted on this forum for speakers below 1lac.

Now I am searching for a matching int amp in range of 50k-75k upto 1lac.

Some good brands i have heard about are :

=Rotel, Arcam, NAD, Marantz, Cambridge Audio, Denon..

Can you all list your recommended model with model no and indian price..

Spidey, where exactly are you? In Los Angeles?

If you are somewhere in India, I would advise you to seriously consider Audire combination of preamp, power amp, and speakers. I have heard all the brands you have mentioned excepting Rotel. In my opinion the Audire combination is extremely transparent, has a exciting spatial soundstage, and a astonishing clarity that these branded products will find it hard to create.

I am writing a detailed review of their system which should be published very shortly with prices and detailed explanation. With a little bit of inexpensive room acoustics, the Audire combination should be able to give you years of excellent sound. The only thing you have to buy from outside is a CDP.

Cheers

thanks for your detailed reply, Venkat.

But i heard Audire needs only single drive speakers .
Most speakers i am considering are normal speakers like RS6 etc.

Can you pls recommend any of the amps i mentioned.
btw i will be on lookout for the Audire review once it is posted !!

how about cadecence .. can i afford it .. at leat speakers ??

If your in Los Angeles the Emotiva XPA-2 monster as i call it, could be a viable and economic option. Heres an idea of how it sounds, measures etc. :-

Are you planning to spend 1 lac on power amp alone or for power+pre? There's someone in the forum selling an Odyssey Stratos Extreme Power Amp and Candela Preamp for 90k. Thats a very hard to beat combo around 1lac. PM Surreallistix if you are interested.

The other option is getting the Acoustic Portrait Pre-Power combo.

Hi,
Decide the speakers first and then choose the amp.
From the above brands the Arcam integrateds should be the best performers in my opinion. Its pretty neutral and fatigue free.
Check out the Yamaha AS 2000 (judge it for yourself without the overhang of the reviews)
If its a Rotel integrated then RA 1070 is best bet.
If its the Nad the C162/272 combo is good but not the most detailed.
The Marantz PM 15SI or its newer avatar is also a cracking amplifier.

if youre buying the ma rs6 dont go for the rotel. the speakers dont pair well with bright amps. like dinyaar said decide on your speakers first and pair it with an amp that goes well with it. or the other way around. one of the most imp issues overlooked is pairing a system

Hi Spidey,

I would recommend that you consider the Multiple award winning Cyrus 8vs2 integrated amplifier along with Dali Ikon 6. Their synergy is excellent.
IMO, one of the finest package about 165k.

I once owned a Jolida Hybrid 100 WPC amp, good one for the price (around Rs 50K). You can audition / buy Jolida products at Oceanic Sound and Vision Pune.
