Bi-Wire Experiment - RS6

My amp allows me to bi-amp my speakers using A+B with completely isolated output stages and there was considerable difference between biwired/jumper connection vs bi amped.

An Integrated amp CANNOT allow bi-amping using A+B system unless there are 4 channels of power amps sitting inside that power amp section of the Integrated.

Cambridge Azur 840a is a 2-ch Integrated amp. How you are able to bi-amp out of that is amazing & from where the 4-channels pwr amps are coming ?

The manual sez this:

The 840W can also be used in either bi-amped or bridged mono configurations. When bi-amping, one 840W (of the pair) powers each speaker so that the tweeters and woofers each have their own dedicated amplifier channel. Alternatively the bridged mono mode allows the use of two 840Ws with each configured as a 500 watt monobloc. In fact combinations of the two regimes allow the use of one, two, four or even more 840Ws to be used, taking it to the truly stratospheric high-end.

Look up the manual to appeal to your amazement.

hmm !! seems CA went out of their way to bring-in this lil marvel to their flagship Int amp.

However, its NOT a common feature at all with most Int amps.

edit : No, CA840a does NOT have this feature. Their dedicated power amp however does.

What you refer applies to CA 840W which is a Power amplifier & NOT an Integrated Amp.

This sort of a feature does NOT apply in CA 840a
(Pls do read the manual carefully)

The best way I could describe mine was it was more playful after bi-amping it.

I am still curious what is this Integrated amplifier here ... ;)

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
