DVD's of Hollywood movies released by Indian companies like SONY/BIG VIDEO/Saregama India Ltd. etc ,are available in stores like MUSIC WORLD /PLANET-M carrying region 1 or 2 or 3 and so on.There is usually no problem as most DVD Players available here come with Multiregion playback (Like i got my Sony NS78 DVD Player which was multiregion by default).

The question is what region does BLURAY Movies have/will have, will it be just like above or it will be fixed Region C only?

Can anybody confirm to which "REGION" the currently available Bluray movies on Sony/BIG video belong(are these region freee i.e "R0" or Region C).

As of now there are no multiregion Bluray players available worldwide (except for Hardware MOD ones), i think there's gonna be huge problem

thanks:)

Your prayers have been answered by australia.
As according to their law region free playback is mandatory and is a consumer right.

A good number of Blu-ray disks are region free. They either mention "All regions" or all of A,B & C. I would recommend that you buy only these disks.

I made the mistake of buoying some region 3 DVDs in India. We should sue these guys (Sony etc.). first they implemented the region encoding, and then sell region 1, 2 & 3 disks in India.

Thanks,
Sharad
