Bolton fullrange drivers

Anyone heard of Luxco speakers? This brand was also quite commonly used by local speaker manufacturers and DIY enthusiasts in the 1980s.

Yes !
Spoke to the owner before the Lockdown
Their home-audio Fullrange drivers gonna roll out very soon.
I got 3" Tweeters 9LT20F much better than Bolton's & frame is like Coral's Holybasket 3" fullrange

The boltons i have required recently.
I think these are alnico magnets.
A simple 3 way crossover aswell.
These came outta the cosmic covox 2500.
The magnets body ,coils and spiders r in excellent spnaking condition but i ll need recone of 3 from the 6 i have.

They seem to be alnico magnets. How was the sound?

3 out of 6 speakers cones r damaged .
I need to replace those first. But will do it after i get the proper cone papers.
But apart fromt he cones the coils, spiders, body and magnets arein excellent condition thats the only reason i wanna restore the other 3 too. Also have good 3 way enclosures for them to go in , also have the original crossover from cosmic and the covox 2500 cabinets which will also be given a chance at restoration when i have time.

Seems interesting. Share the photo once the restoration is done.

Yeah, I have used these Luxco woofers. Still retaining their original punch even though they are a bit tired looking after continuous hard use for many years.

Coming back to the subject of full range drivers, these are Cosmic full rangers from my JBL Cosmic. They share the same chassis and cones of the woofers from Covox 3500. They are limited in hf extension, so Cosmic supported them with dome tweeters.

And these are the custom made full rangers that were jointly developed by fm vktarun and myself. They share some of the unique features of the Philips Hi-Q drivers but have larger vc and magnets. The poll piece is topped with a copper disc, as in the original Hi-Q, to present a flat impedance curve to the driving amp.
These have a much better power handling capacity compared to the original Hi-Q. They are actually Hi-Q drivers on steroids!

Regards,
Luxco speakers were used by Arphi. There were many Indian grown companies which sounded pretty good.
