I am looking for a music system for my home in Bangalore. This system would be for my father who is keen on listening to classical music. Looking around i came across 'Bose wave music system'. It is available for $499 here and it is a good discount to the price in b'lore(34K INR). I can connect a mp3 player to this system on the aux input.

Please let me know your suggestions.

This system comes with an offer in india for limited time, Wave SoundLink Upgrade Kit free. The only problem is the AC input, it is 120V in US and here 220V, you need a converter to operate the same if bought from abroad.

Hi:

Another vote for Bose Wave, heard it, liked it for it's superb clarity in sound for classical music, but the bass was a tad less - anyway parent's don't like much bass.

:)

Yeah, i.e. the problem. The problem with the converter is if accidentally you miss using it you might fry the electrical of this expensive system.

I have the Bose Wave and I can tell you it is good for older people as it gives good sound with minimal complexity of usage. Classical will sound good on it. It is available in India and the price will be on Bose India website.

Yes, i saw the price to be around 34K in Bangalore. Did you purchase this in India ?

Yes, the AC Input voltage is the problem, and also if accidentally you miss to connect via connector you would fry the electrical of this expensive system.

I got the price to be around 34K in Bangalore. How much did you buy it for, and did you buy it in India ?

Has anyone been using one bought in US with converter? Does the time drift?

I have had a few radio clocks bought in the US using 120-240 converter which have time drift horribly!
