Hi.. This question is for home theatre Guru's
I have a wierd situation of having different components.

1) i have a Bose Lifestyle 30, series 2 ( player and sub woofer) - Player stopped working for Tape (TV) and CD . Only AUX and FM are working. Even remote is gone now. below are the specs

2) I have new set of Bose accoustimass 10 speakers only ( which were plugged into above legacy/old lifestyle 30 system) till now.
Below is the link of this component.

Question is - By using above speakers with or without the old sub woofer, how can i complete a home theatre system. My 1st though was Onkyo receiver.
Please suggest.

Hi

The Bose cube speakers cannot work without the subwoofer. The cross over for the cubes is located in the subwoofer...so you need the subwoofer regardless...

Since you were using a Lifestyle 30, this mandatory requires the player console as there is a specialised ribbon connector between the subwoofer module and player...this ribbon connector has the input / output signals etc....technically this means you cannot connect an external amplifier...

Had the speakers set of Acousticmass 10 been complete (cubes + subwoofer) you could connect the same to an external AVR.
