Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of getting this set :
Cambridge Audio 340A SE + S30 Book Shelf Speakers.
I would only like Stereo, for music and moves..
Do you think is okay..or a good VFM setup?

My budget is max or 25K...and m stretching it a bit for these...

I have also looked at AudioEngine A5's which are integrated Amp..Which do you guys suggest...?

These will be connected to the PC via the Xonar ST Stereo Soundcard.

Do let me know what you think...
And who is a good dealer in Pune for these...?

Thanks a lot for the suggestions...

S30 have been discontinued long time back if iam not wrong....
AudioEngine will be a good choice if u are using PC as source but again individual preferences...
What kinda genre do u listen to (music)?

all kinda, hindi, pop, soft rock,,,,,some of harder ambient trance as well....

I checked oput the A5's but didnt like the build quality of the black ones...

Hi,
Are you open to used gear? Vivek from Pune is selling his wharfe 8.2 for 7k. Add 1.5k for shipping. You will be left with another 15k for amp. Hunt for a new pm 6002 . I got it for 16.5k in May.

Edit:since you are from pune, you wont need shipping. So you are left with 18k. You will get pm5004(latest). Pm 6003 is selling for 23k. If you can find6002,that would be great.

Hi Nanu,
I have similar music preferences (except trance). I didn't find A5 good enough for me, as I found the bass very less. I finally chose Wharfedale 9.2.

The combination is a great one at your budget. The sound will be clean. If you prefer a "warmer"/"richer" sound with thicker bass, the WF 9.1/9.2 is an alternative.

The 340A and S30 individually have received good reviews. My experience listening to the S30 is that the sound is almost neutral, detailed, and smooth.
The bass from the S30 is adequate for most music except hard rock, metal, hip-hop, and rap. The 340A has a similar sound signature. Try to audition this setup before you buy.

I do not think the S30 has been discontinued. Maybe it is not easily available in some cities but internationally, the model is available in most stores and online.
