Copying recorded discs so far was illegal . Of course everyone is doing it but supposed to be illegal. Now they have something to say about that. Read this article.

I was under the impression it was already legal to make multiple/unlimited copies of data you had bought & paid for. Might have been only the US or my bad.

Anyways the issue is not with the folks doing the copying, but the folks doing the distribution i.e. uploading to torrent and file sharing sites. Hollywood has only gone after those folks in having them arrested and legally penalized.

Have seen it written on the backside label of even cassettes, that unauthorized copying and lending etc is punishable.
