35 years after Ivor invented Linns original Isobarik loudspeaker, breakthroughs in acoustic development and manufacturing have enabled us to bring back this much-loved loudspeaker design, re-invented to meet the demands of todays discerning customer.

The new Majik Isobarik uses twin face-to-face bass drivers, mounted at the bottom of the cabinet and working in tandem to produce very deep and controlled bass from a relatively compact enclosure.

Linns new Isobarik technology is combined with our latest playback developments, including the 2K driver array, to create a perfectly even sound response throughout the room.

An inspired new crossover design and ingenious bass mounting solution has enabled us to build a fantastic all-round loudspeaker which will appeal to everyone, whatever their taste in music.

This full range loudspeaker with a genuine subwoofer is well within reach of many customers. It maintains the unmistakeable musical character of a Linn loudspeaker but thanks to the Isobarik bass system, it packs a powerful punch at the low end too.

Majik Isobarik Technology:

Majik Isobarik features an 8 ported isobaric bass system which provides significant benefits:
? Very deep bass from a relatively compact enclosure.
By doubling the driving force (two motors), doubling the
moving mass (two cones and two voice coils), and
doubling the stiffness of the suspensions we can produce
the same deep bass extension using only half of the
enclosure volume required by a non-Isobarik design.

? A reduction in distortion at bass frequencies.
All bass drive units suffer from non-symmetry; the force
required to push the cone forward is different to the force
required to pull the cone inward. By mounting two bass
drive units in opposite directions (face to face) we can
enforce symmetry and ensure a more linear response to
the input current.

? Omni-directional bass, making positioning of the
loudspeakers easier in any space. By mounting the
Isobarik system in the underside of the enclosure the
Majik Isobarik delivers truly omni-directional bass. This
has significant benefits in reducing the deleterious effects
of loudspeaker and room interaction.

? More bass output for the same electrical input.
Firing the bass towards the floor increases the acoustic
loading of the bass system allowing more acoustic power
output.

2K Driver Array
? A more complete soundstage throughout the room
for better sound wherever youre positioned.
The 2K driver array improves dispersion by significantly
reducing diffraction.

Linn's distinctive 2K driver array acts as a single-point source to ensure exceptionally clean and controlled high-frequency reproduction and allow flexible positioning.

With a special Isobarik Aktiv option which allows the bass drivers to be driven actively for even greater performance, Majik Isobarik offers a simple upgrade path from bi-wiring to fully Aktiv.

Available in a range of beautifully crafted real wood finishes, with high gloss and custom colour options, the classic understated styling of Majik Isobarik will enhance any living space.

Majik Isobarik is a speaker which excels with all types of music and in all listening environments - combine with Majik components to get the most from your favourite music and movies.

Isobarik bass loading allows for very low, controlled bass from a relatively compact enclosure.

Without Isobarik loading the cabinet volume would need to double to achieve the same low bass notes.

Isobarik bass system also helps reduce distortion by providing identical suspension compliance for both the in-stroke and out-stroke of the bass system. this reduced non-linearity results in improved distortion figures.

Down firing bass driver and ports improve the efficiency of the bass system. we get more acoustic output for the same electrical input.

Down firing bass, when correctly designed, provides omni-directional bass. this significantly improves the loudspeaker and room interaction, reducing the impact of room modes.

This makes positioning of the loudspeaker much less troublesome

Mounting the Bass system in the bottom of the enclosure we are able to reduce the width of the cabinet.

This significantly reduces the visual impact of the cabinet producing a classic and elegant loudspeaker
