Connecting New Cartridge

Hello everyone,

I have to connect a new cartridge to my Philips GA 242, Can you kindly advise if the colored wire be directly soldered to the cart pins. Caution note on the leaflet says that this should not be done. Pls advise what would be the consequences if it is done this was.,

Ga 242 or is it electronic 242?

It also reads as electronic 242, but the actual model is GA 242.

for the cartridge wires.
