 ... thats bigger, bruter, more intimidating than mine!

yep, all the highs and lows are more detailed and revealing and intimate. Also can be easily be driven by a 15 Watts Amp. Topping should be a real winner for this speaker.

Hats off and many many congratulations on such a splendid build! That is a really desirable pair of speakers you have built. The finish looks really great too, including the choice of colors and veneer/polish (?).

I'm also amazed at how well your designs are able to achieve such low levels of bass while maintaining such good sensitivity. My speakers go fairly low for being so small but the tradeoff is really low sensitivity - which means that it needs a really powerful amp to drive them properly.

hari,

please post your listening impressions on the wavcor tweeter as compared to the peerless tweeter.

congratulations and it looks like a good build..

Please take some more high-res photos and post

Specification looks amazing!... I've heaad the prototype during last years HiFi meet@mumbai... it sounded so smooth and embracing to my ears, I liked it like nothing else! The only thing lacking was aesthetics which I know will eventually improve. Hari sir...please post some good close-up pics..

My experience with the BD Wavecor tweeterr is mind-blowing. The Peerless tweeter cannot even come close to the Wavecor w.r.t. detailing, smoothness and eveness in response. Having said that the Wavecor tends to resonate at higher frequencies and needs to be handled well for that in the cross-over else it could be fatigue prone for long listening sessions. In comparasion to SQ, the Wavecor beats the Peerless in all departments if designed properly. But again peerless tweeters are good too given the cost and availability criteria. Not many would be able to afford the BD series of tweeters from Wavecor.

@Hari-Congrats Hari,nice build.
Peerless 6.5" Kevlar cone was unavailable, how di you manage to get it?

I have been waiting for my floorstanding speakers for quite a long time.Been in touch with Hari since 2009 when I first heard his TL speakers. He has done a wonderful job - the look and the sound of the speaker is mind blowing. The highs are very sweet, I just love this Wavecor tweeter:licklips:.Very crisp trebles! The Bass is very tight and deep.. U can really feel it! Hard to imagine that driver producing so low bass! Was wondering how it will sound with my Pioneer A5 Stereo Amp & Nakamichi CDP? I bet it will shake the house! :yahoo: Thanks friends - Francis

Congratulations to Hari and Francis. The build looks really nice and the size looks mighty big.

"Freq Response (Calculated) -6dB ---> 19Hz to 25KHz" ---- That is really low indeed.

Please post more pictures especially closeups.

you are right:yahoo:

But minez are still better :p .. the 'firsts' always are ... :p

BTW, hope you have sufficient space for 'this' size speakers. My drivers are just 5.25' and am unable to get even upto the 50% mark on my amp, and thats more than sufficient for loud/clean/clear hearing with a mind-blowing tight bass as a follow-up. My speakers cater to a 275 sq.ft room.

Yes, it took me some time to get the right speaker positioning in the room to 'hear' the best SQ from it ...... now, its done for good.

OHH ... forgot to add ....... welcome to the TL CLUB!
