Custom Build TL FS speakers for Francis

18mm MDF used.
Box dimensions are HxWXD - 48"x9"x11"

Freq Response (Calculated) -6dB ---> 19Hz to 25KHz
SPL - 92dB / W / M

48 inches tall! That must be quite something! No wonder the bass goes down impressively low. BTW, upto what (bass) frequency does it have a flat response?

And with sensitivity of 92 dB/W/m it must be amp friendly though fleawatt tubes will have to be ruled out.

And yes, more pictures please. Great going, Hari. Will this be demo-ed at the Navi Mumbai meet?

But minez are still better :p .. the 'firsts' always are ... :p

BTW, hope you have sufficient space for 'this' size speakers. My drivers are just 5.25' and am unable to get even upto the 50% mark on my amp, and thats more than sufficient for loud/clean/clear hearing with a mind-blowing tight bass as a follow-up. My speakers cater to a 275 sq.ft room.

Yes, it took me some time to get the right speaker positioning in the room to 'hear' the best SQ from it ...... now, its done for good.

OHH ... forgot to add ....... welcome to the TL CLUB!

Thanks Avid.. TL Club , here I come...:)

These speakers are very powerful & loud, I think less than 50% Volume on my Amp should be quite enough. My room size is B= 11 Feet , L= 19 Feet which opens into L shape:- 6 Feet X 15 Feet.

The vocals are very clear, gives U that Live performance feeling! Hari has been tweaking the sound as per my taste, & it has come out very nice.

There are some Pics I had clicked when I visited Hari for the sound demo from Blackberry, they may not be very clear, but that's all have for now!

Good to see Hari has been taking our suggestions seriously. He has used 3 studs instead of 4 as in my case. 3 is pretty easy to adjust/handle! Though, it does'nt matter much with this size and weight of the speaker, it would have been visually better to have 2 studs in the front and 1 on the rear.

Would you opt for speaker grill or the open-drivers is more alluring? I also do not see use of any non-woven felts for absorbing reflections around the drivers!

There will be 4 Studs instead of 3.I was not confortable with the look.Hari will add one soon.
The speaker looks yummy without grills to me, but my little sonny WILL SURELY TWEAK THE SOUND:lol:

3 would ALWAYS 'rest', no matter how uneven is your floor. No so with 4. Its a 'grim' struggle to get all 4 touch(ing) the ground!!!!

Crossovers= Hari's Secret! But he tweaked the sound according to my taste! Crisp N clear treble, Nice Mids and very tight bass, no boom but pure deeeep BASS!!!

Flat freq response is till around 42Hz after that it rolls-off @ -6dB/octave.

No, this wont be demoed at meet.
