Speakers which do an excellent job for movies and music...equally...on FLAT equalisation but punchy

Jamo C Series
Polks RTiA Series
Dali Z1, Z3, even Vokal
Boston Acoustics
Mission LX series
B&Ws
Wharfedale Diamond 9 and 10 series
Bose 301 (Specifically series III only)

In terms of Sub, there are many besides Velodyne....i am sure you will find a thread on the same .....after using a couple of brands...finally settled for BIC America....you can check the thread on the same...

If you dont get a chance to hear the speakers for yourself.....look at some You Tube videos to get some idea.....

Thanks a bunch everyone. I am extremely happy that all of you are spending your valuable time in helping me to make out a better judgment.

I am keeping the Subwoofer very close to the wall due to lack of space so I can't afford any rear ported as with my experience the subwoofer becomes too much boomy.

What I prefer is front firing down ported. Bic is amazing and a very good value for money, but doesn't meet my requirements.
