@toocool: With the price of a StepUp transformer added, the final pricing would go up to 33-34k and I think a local 1911 should be available at near 40k.Now if the GEB price was something around 25-27k with the transformer, i would have advised for it,but in this scenario, I think u should make a few rounds and see whats the lowest price u can achieve for the 1911 locally and if its near or below 40k, should opt for local purchase IMHO.

I read somewhere that some avrs allow hdmi passthrough even when they are off. Which could mean that if I want to watch dvd with TV speakers I can just switch on dvd and tv.

I can confirm that this is true of my Denon 1611. it passes through the last HDMI connection that was used before reciever was switched off

Same with 608 but I think in standby mode not when powered off completely...

That's an amazing price with bill & warranty. Could you pls share the details of the shop you're getting this quote from? I am also in the market for an AVR. Was almost set on the 1611, which I'm getting for under 30, but if I get a 1911 at 37, I'll definitely consider it.
