Hi FMs

I am currently at the stage of doing false ceiling in my house. I am planning to have a 5.1 system in my bedroom, where LCR will be in wall and surrounds I am planning to be in ceiling. I was takling to few local guys who take up HT projects. One of them brought up the back boxes thingy. I was not aware of that. My query is do we really need to have backboxes for in-wall/ceiling speakers?

If yes, then now is the time for me to do this and what kind of back boxes, MDG/plywood, rockwool etc??

Thanks.

Rear box can give a focussed sound which may be needed if false ceiling is totally open behind and not just round cut out.
