Does Airtel HD/HD+ STB send 5.1 thru HDMI?

Dear all, I browsed thru but couldn't find a definite answer to this question. I would like to know if Airtel's HD STBs send 5.1 signal through HMDI? I know we can get 5.1 through Optical, but would like to get it thru HDMI.

Yes it does. After the firmware update (update 502) HD STB sends 5.1 through HDMI

While checking airtel HD set up box,optical out put to HiFi stereo Amps, it shows audio streaming is only 44.1kHz ,not ,96kHz or 192kHz.Any body have any idea on it ?
