Does Sony KD 43x8500c accept 100hz input at 1080p

I'm curious to know if I can feed the TV 100hz input at 1080p. I know the 55" model can - however it is an entirely different panel. I have a feeling the 43x8500c is a re-branded 43x8300c which is pretty crappy.

Hey this model supports upto Motionflow XR 200Hz... So you can try. If you want to test it, just goto SONY showroom along with your video in a pendrive..

Do proper testing there and decide.

No, that's motion interpolation, I'm talking about input at 100hz at 1080p.

There are no showrooms near me which have the 43" model, I'd have taken my computer and set it to output a 100hz frequency otherwise. Video content is different. I'm trying to find out if the non 3d 43 model has the same 100hz input the 55" 3d model has or not.

My viewing distance is 8'. And I see mostly BD content.

Would anyone wish to advise me against going for it? And justify why they feel so? Thanks!

It's hard to say because there aren't enough indepth reviews about the 43x8500c or 49x8500c out there, the 55" reviews are pointless because it's an entirely different panel.

But suffice to say it's most like the best 43" uhd tv. BD will look lovely on it.

I noticed that the xotionflow for the 55" x8500c in India is 800 vs 960 in the US.
240x4=960
200x4=800
50x4=200

Therefore the 43x8500c is actually a native 50hz panel...which is..horrible.

I don't understand. Why would someone want to send a 100hz signal to any display unit. Its 24fps for hd movies and 60hz for games. for sd its either 30(60i) or 25(50i). so why bother about 100hz?

Because 60hz for games is 100-140 hz when you input a 100-140 signal to display and no longer 60hz. It is why 100-144hz monitors exist. However gaming is a small market in India compared to abroad and such monitors or even knowledge of such display tech is not common here.

The calculation is somewhat like this

motion flow or soap opera effect tries to artificially reduce blur by injecting frames. For example, a sony motionflow 200hz is 50 hz x 4(injected frames)

But if a device such as a computer can output say 100hz directly, then you're getting 40-50% less motion blur natively compared to 50-60hz panels. And modern video cards these days can.

As a result you not only reduce artifacts created by artificial motion blurring but you can turn it off entirely.

Hence why I'm curious to know if the 43x8500c can accept a 1080p signal at 100hz for games so I can turn off motionflow entirely and feed a 100hz signal.

60 Hz limitation is only for Gaming consoles and not for PCs running high end graphics card.
