Sorry for not updating this.
I felt that the light colored side walls also need to be darkened. The more i watch movies in this room, the more i understand projectors. Projectors work best when there is zero ambient light. Everything needs to be darkened. I could not paint the walls because that meant i need to remove the diy acoustic panels that i have put up in parts of the room. So i got some black cloth and stuck it using double sided tapes. Not very pretty but i can live with that - after all, it doesn't matter how it looks after you turn off the lights
