No off topics

Anyway I have 2 Ray ban wayfareres ( Black andBrown ) and love it.
Earlier I had
1) Oakley ( "Funded" by friend
2) Carerra - Lost
3) Puma - Broke
4) Lamborgini ( Got in Sale It was Gaudy and Lousy) - Lost

I have another Reebok gifted by bro ( He got it free with somethig!) and that is pathetic

Wanna buy MonsterDog By oakley - but in fund crisis...

BTW - Ray Ban wayfarer is preferred by many Rock Stars and Hollywood Celebrities and claimed to be most popular sunglasses ( more popular than Ray Ban aviators) And Tom Cruize Helped to revive the fashion in 80's ( again he revived Aviators in Top Gun)

See Billy Joel,Tom Crize and above all John F Kennedy in wayfarers!

Tiara Mp3 sunglasses. They have about 2 GB of storage. SQ is ok, but you have to change the stock headphones to in ear phones.

Actually, it can get confusing. You buy eyeglasses but they feed into the ear. Instead of using headphones you have to buy in ear phones for eyeglasses.

They will launch a version in late 2010 with a sub attached (goes behind the head i am told). In 2011, one can expect in ear phones where the chord can also double up as an eye glass.

Good point Psycho. But should that mean the brands supported by Foxconn (for e.g.) shouldn't differ in their product attributes or affect the buying decisions of the 'intelligent' consumer? Apples and Oranges perhaps? :)

unlike gadgets which have many features and aspects on the basis of which you choose them....sunglasses are pretty straightforward. They do one thing. In one way. So the Foxconn comparison is not really useful.

Here's a useful article for those of you who are into sunglasses :) Are Designer Sunglasses Worth the Price? - WSJ.com

Designer sunglasses are like designer clothes. Sure you can make do with less. But as the name suggests you're paying for frame design which you may not get in other brands, along with bragging rights. To many people, these things matter more than the most economical option.

The frames that I find most desirable, which are the ones that are just one springy piece of titanium, with no actual hinge, I think come from a specialist spectacle supplier. The design, the looks, are superb, and they are very light and probably comfortable to wear (I nearly got them, but chickened out at the last minute).

Designer names put me off. Maybe its inverse snobbery, but I just don't like that culture. I would never wear anything that actually displayed such a name --- partly because, if they want me to advertise them, they can pay me, not the other way around!

I also distrust the entire system, suspecting that it is quite probable that the "name" never had anything to do with the design other than selling the label.

I'm just cynical!

(My last pair of specs fell apart. I' currently wearing the same lenses, inserted into a new Rs.500 frame by a guy in a tiny local shop. They are cheap, and they feel cheap, not keeping their springy grip at all. Sometime soon, I'll get them replaced by something more sturdy, probably around rs.1000)
