I'm currently operating a 2.0 speaker setup that consists of a QA3050i speaker(-6dB @ 44Hz pretty decent by slightly muddy) driven by a Marantz NR1200 stereo receiver in Pure Direct Mode, with a Wiim Pro streamer handling streaming and parametric EQ duties. My living/listening room is an untreated 13x12 feet.

I'm looking to add a sealed subwoofer with tight bass to the system, and have updated my options and narrowed them down to (SVSsb1000pro @70K, Rhythmic L12@85K , REL HT/1003 @72K) after thorough research. I skipped REL T/5X as I want a bit of thump, and bass extension alone may not be sufficient for my tastes; on the other hand, a rumble is something I want to avoid. Given that my listening preferences are primarily acoustic music and vocals, classic rock, and sometimes POP/EDM, I'm uncertain which subwoofer would be the better match for my setup. I am unable to demo any of them, so I am looking for recommendations. I plan to use REW to program the PEQ in WIIM for a better integration, if that is even possible.

I would appreciate any guidance on this decision. Room sim done from

Again adding personal experience here -

Last couple years I have had the following subs -

HT - Qacoustics, QB12, SVS 1000 Pro ( the sealed one), REL HT1003, REL T7X
Music - SVS 3000 Micro, REL T5x & T7x, Genelec 5040.
Main system - Genelec 7040.

Barring the Genelec 7040, the other subs have been rotated & pitted against each other - some have stayed, some are gone.

Though I personally believe that most subs can sound good with some effort, but for the least amount of effort and great sound - I would personally go with HT1003. I love that it sounds brilliant for both music and movies at the same settings and only needs me to push the sub a little for gaming. Also the REL Wireless kit allows me to keep it in the best spot for the sub without any compromise and dropouts. I have been using this sub for almost a year now with the wireless kit and ZERO dropouts or delays.

Thanks for the clarity.

I would go with rel or rythmik in your case.
