Full HD Projector for living room

@All
Thanks for your taking your time and helping me out but alas my mother was extremely adamant on getting a TV as her saas bahu serials were not in HD and they looked like crap on the projector.
Went ahead and bought a Samsung 64" E8000 TV.
Dad & I planned a dedicated HT room for the projector so will definitely get a projector but its going to take time..

Thanks to everyone once again
Congratulations.

But I think that your mother is not going to like the Saas/Bahu and other SD content on the 64" TV either. Between the TV and projector, the projector was not the culprit but the SD TV feed was.

In any case, I maintain my view that projector cannot replace TV. All the best for your HT venture. Will look forward to your progress with interest.

all saas bahu serials are in hd btw..........star plus, zee tv sony all run hd and look fantastic in projector....
anyway congratulation on the sammy purchase
its highly expensive right...
like 3.5 lakhs i think...

Yes, the problem was with the content only but the abundance of ambient light also played a part in swaying my decision towards a tv.

I am talking about regional channels like gemini, etv etc..
TV is not that expensive too,its a plasma...
Cost me 1.8lac with a free home theater and 4 pairs of 3D glasses

I have Acer K130 WXGA PJ. Purchased for 35k and its amazing. As suggested by the members i aslo use it for HD content only on my BD player and Tata Sky HD channels. It is a LED projector having 20000H of lamp life with no mercury content. If you have a dark (just about) room then it will give a pleasurable experience. you can also try Optoma HD20 or a Casio LED hybrid projector.

Hi my friends....I am totally new to this forum....in fact my first post since I do not have time...I am busy with my work.....
But then when I went thru all the projector stuff, I felt like writing something on it since I own a Epson 6000 3D full HD with HDMI.....around 1.1 lac
Its awesome on 120 inch screen for watching movies.....its clarity, depth, colors etc are damn good.....and its 3D on Ps3 looks stunning with super brightness and deep black levels.....Epson has a very good service in India and are quick to comply if something goes wrong........
I own a 55 LG 3D LED which is awesome in all respect.....but one should have projector to have theater feel at home and with 120 inch screen....I will never go to theater again.
Epson 6000 is just awesome in all respect.....

Just wanted to know whether you can use ps3 3d glasses on epson 6000 series projector.. Did you buy any extra 3d glasses ?

As far as I know and understand, the 3D glasses for projector are different. Projectors might(?) be using "Universal 3D RF" technology. Sony continues to use its proprietory 3D glasses technology.

You are right.

I have Supernova, it is very good in terms of picture quality even with in-direct light/s and adds a lot of dynamics to interior of room though the screen is very expensive, but it can easily last for a life time.

I will like to see the Black Diamond screen, what is the cost?

V.

Forgot to add that I use one these Black Diamond screens, and to me the picture is almost plasma like. I also must add that though its in my living room, the walls are wood paneled with a very dark brown shade.

Another screen like this is Supernova from dnp. I think vinay uses that.
