Future Proofing for Home Theater

A small square room is the worst case you can have considering the acoustics point of view http://www.avsforum.com/t/1256145/is-square-rooms-bad-for-bass. To get a decent sound quality, you would have to invest heavily in a lot of bass traps. This needs to be taken into consideration while planning an ht room. A rectangular room whether L shaped or otherwise is likely to sound much better with moderate acoustic treatment. In case you decide to set up ht in the square room and If you are not able to invest in that kind of treatment, then I feel any other expenditure on cabling or equipment would be a waste. Just some friendly advice from own experience , not to discourage you. Also you can google 'thx viewing distance calculator'. A screen too large can also ruin your av experience.

Based on the suggestion of all the members and some research on the net; i have decided to drop PJ idea  and make arrangement for TV in both living room and computer room. so in future when i get sufficient funding i can install the system with ease.

Too bad, you are giving up the dream, based on theories thrown around from web.

I think that you made a wise decision. Your room was too small for projector and comfortable viewing distance.

One last point - do not install AC on top of the TV. Use the side wall instead.

I could have managed to only get 80" of screen in there which also i am not sure i would have comfortable to watch at about 10 feet distance and usually I sit at the back row when i watch movies in the multiplex.

Going with 55" to 65" TV also make sense; i don't have to worry about darkening the room and stuff before watching movies or TV and other "One Time" hassles of installing PJ.

BTW i am going to install one 3" empty conduit thru false ceiling anyway just in case I decided to install PJ in future ;) which will help concealing wires in great way.

That's my main intention is "Future Proofing".

Finished installing CAT6 cables in all rooms.

Attached are some of the images of finished and WIP of CAT6 Cabling.

My personal advice is not to drop the PJ idea, the picture a DLP PJ throws which is near to movie viewing in theater cannot be reproduced by TV.

Thanks for the comment.

I haven't dropped the PJ idea. I will be running a 3" conduit thru false ceiling for PJ. I have also made arrangement for PJ power supply. Just in case :licklips:.
