Garrard 301 takes off

Hi Stevieboy,

My motorboard is 18mm thick marine ply, and my spacer is also made out of ply, about 10 mm thick. Not sure how you'd screw down your arm baseplate to acrylic, or for that matter, bronze. Unless of course, they're pre-drilled for a particular screw type.

A direct mounting on the motorboard is fine, except that you need to raise the arm height almost to its maximum, because of the height of the Garrard platter. It works, but don't look particularly pretty.

regards,

Hi G401fan,

The spacer has smooth holes the diameter of the screw so the screw just passes through and anchors in the motorboard. The spacer just provides the height not a bed for the screws unlike yours and I now understand your earlier suggestion.

Regards
