so after almost a week of numerous calls to cc and even nodal officers i have accepted that this may not activated after all.TS guys meant it when they said they are not selling this in kerala
nodal officer also said they dont have the access to activate. and for the last 4 days evryone including cc. super visor , nodal officer says same thing " within two hours i will get the call" so there is consistency. I tried to explain to severel of them over a call lasted over 30 minutes that i dont need an engineer here and i can see the ch 100 , epg for all channels etc

but all insist i need an " installation" from elusive TS engineer and which may or maynot be found

so i guess i will wait for RDTV to launch the star hd channels

I was plannig on finalizing the TS HD, but the more posts i read thru the more confusing it becomes.

When I got my LCD TV, i went in for the Sun DTH and very much disappointed with the quality. I removed it and reverted back to the old Cable + set top box connection, which i would say is very good in terms of picture quality and sound.

Now that the HD channels have come, i wanted to go for TS HD but if the other channels are going to be very bad, then i guess i just have to stay with the cable+STB connection. aargh... confused...

got the service engineer number after numerous calls

in another district, 60km away, he said no installation required ,(so much for cc guys insisting for special installation. lnb for HD box etc)
he is trying to activate for the last one hour from his office
I dont understand why TS cc took 5 days and so many calls to give the darn number, do they enjoy tormenting customer?

this number was switched off for almost a day, then he was not picking up, i tried calling with skype and he picked up( must have scared seeing the unknown number display)

the nodal officer thing is quite useless, still no reply and ofcourse the phone never picks up

This is the worst experience in any product/service for me by a huge margin, and i had my share of bad experiences and still people say TS cc is the best,

their information about their own service network is not updated, while on call with cc i conferenced with the service franchise (in TS record)who told they have stopped working for TS long ago

i had a friend buy me a hd box from pai bangalore and brought it here. Called cc and gave digicard/ comp numbers and told them to activate. they said the numbers are not valid( yes i double checked). Then i recharged my old TS sd a/c and called cc again asked them to add this as a second connection or link my old smart card to the new box. They said they cannot do it and they will send an engineer in 72 hours for "installation". I told them i already connected the box and and i can see channel 100, they only need to activate it but they said NO. Tried a different cc guy at a later time but got the same reply

Now waiting for the engineer
I suppose, as a policy they do not activate a connection merely on the request of the customer just to ensure that multiroom connections are not installed at a different location. Purpose of the engineer's visits may be varification of the location.

finally done, mission accomplished

the engineer done theactivation while sitting in his office. only if the dumb cc guys listened to me earlier and gave the contact info. it took only couple of hours for activation and cc guys managed to delay it for 5 days

CONGRATS! Hope you are enjoying the new Star HD channels now.. They have some audio dropout issues which should get resolved in coming days... Also, we should push them to atleast show content in 16:9 aspect ratio instead of stretched 4:3 for SD content even when it contains wide aspect picture..
