Hi All,

In an attempt to complete my long pending 2 way Bookshelf's,which were run in a active 2 way till now because of missing passive crossover,
the last part was to build the passive crossover, i have already procured the enamelled wire and different sized bobbins, had a few doubts on the dimensions hence the this thread.

Is there any ratio (Length : Diameter) to be followed to make the inductors efficient ? or there wont be much differences in this ?

and regarding the values that i need, smallest will be 0.30 mH and Largest will be 1.9 mH

Thanks
Harsha

yes, i had used below calculator for calculating the approx wire length required.
and had wound a few inductors for my earlier project, and seemed to be pretty accurate.

https://www.coilgun.info/mark2/inductorsim.htm

But while simulating the inductors, i saw that if we change the length of the coil, same Inductance was achieved by using shorter wire lengths and vice versa, So wanted to know if there is any ratio .

Thanks
Harsha
