HDTV settings wth DTH and Calibration... any idea?

Hi,
I am new to LCD TVs, I have bought a 23" FULL HDTV recently.

I am looking forward to get more technical details about the connectivity options as well as TV calibration. I will be using it with my Big TV DTH (Standard, not HD). I have heard 'Component' out from Big TV DTH STB is good quality than the normal AV out.. right?
Since its a Standard DTH, only Composite (AV) and Components are available (no HDMI out)..

I have heard about calibrating LCD TV, but dont have any clear idea how to do that.... manual calibrations with on screen images/patterns??

Yes, component is far better than composite.

For calibration, the best is to get a DVD such as this or Amazon.com: Avia Guide to Home Theater: Movies & TV. In a thread a member had shown a link to a downloadable software from AVS. You can search for that also.
