Recently bought this gizmo from fm clearcut as it was at an irresistible price and i have read about some great room correction feature it has. Believe you can tame your sound system to the acoustics of the room and end up with a great sound.

So now i dont know what to do with this thing. Please help me setup and use this thing.
My setup:-
Schiit Bifrost Dac
Emotiva USP-1/UPA-2 Amplifier
Ascend Acostics Sierra-1 Speakers
SVS SB12 subwoofer

I believe i can connect this between Source and Dac.
Guys some step by step instructions would be great.

problem with this is it only accepts either optical in or Balanced in for digital.

what is your transport..if your iput into the dac is spdif then its easy else its going to be difficult !

so to connect you need to buy a good pair of digital cables (balanced costs money but is better, but else buy 2 optical) and put it between the transport to the DAC.

if its via USB, you have a problem...and option is only to use this as your main dac and hope the Schiit has a digi out.

now comes the difficult part . it took me ages to get that right..and since it degraded the sound on my setup, gave it up and kept it out of the main signal..just used it for checking the room response

Since its a pro equipment its tough to get right and am sorry but its not a easy path for you ;)

try this.. this is as simple as it gets

It is pretty easy to set up.

There are 2 ways to connect it.

First if your source is only digital connect digital source spdif or toslink to the deq. Take the digital out from the deq and feed the dac. Afaik the xls input accepts spdif input but you need an RCA to Xlr cable.

The other way would be to connect it between the ups and Upa. In this mode you will rely on the adc and the dac of the unit. And you will need 2 pairs of RCA to Xlr converters,

To use it you will need a mic. You could get a USB mic but a a analog mic plus mic to USB dongle is more flexible.

Once you have all this .. The world ins your oyster!

:-)

aah forgot.. you could also do an analogue in/out but again you need balanced cables..2 pairs and your amp needs either to have a balanced in OR you need to get one of those balanced to RCS converters at one or both of the ends.

I am not an expert nor have I seen equalizers being used in a home set up.
Just curious - are you using a MIC to check the response at different frequencies using a CD with test tracks?
