Given the options,I will go for Denon then pio then Yam.
The reason is Denon will give for money you paf whether music or mov.
Pio also new but performance is good too.
Lastly Yam best for mov.

Consider Onkyo 706 too, if you are getting it from US(or outside India). its future proof too and also has THX certification.

Venkat sir will be giving a review on Pioneer after Dec 1st week. May be you can wait till then.

Hi,

I m not sure how acurate Onkyo can reproduce stereo sound.
If we connect good CD player with analoge connection to Onkyo AVR in Direct mode, will it do the justice?

Thank you all for your response.

Venkar Sirrrrrr... .desperately wiating for your opinion on Pio......

Also, my 2nd phase
> Need a good 5.1 speaker package.
- budget is 35K.
- room size 10 ft X 12.6 ft
- looking for satellites only with woofer, hows Polk RM-705

Kindly advise.

Wharfedale HCP is good. But somehow i am not fine with the default configuration of 9.0 fronts, 9.cc(centre), 9.SR surround and 100W subwoofer.

Also at your budget you can consider Morduant Avant 900i series. I am making a a comparision of Avant with default Wharfedale HCP that comes for 35K..

Avant 902i - front bookshelf - 5.25" woofer compared to 4" woofer of Wharfedale fronts (902i is the supertest winner conducted by whathifi and it beat Wharfedale 9.1).

Avant 903i - Bipolar surrounds - Bipolar speaker instead of normal surrounds in Wharfedale HCP.
Avant 905i - Centre channel - 5.25" instead of 4" of wharfedales
Avant 309i - Subwoofer (175W compared to Wharfedale HCP 100W sub)

Total cost would be between 32-35K.

See the press review sections.

If you want to go for wharfedale than go for 9.1 fronts, 9.cs centre, 9.DFS(surronds) and SW150 subwoofer. Cost would be around 47K.

Thanks,
Prakash.
