Please help me to set up a HT considering below parameters

Room size : 18X12 [At peresent dist betn my Tv and the sofa is 10ft aprox , we are considering to reduce it as we will be bringing more furnitures may be to 5Ft].

Preferance: 30% music,70% movies.

I have finalized the following

1. Denon 1910 + DT PRO 800 [My audition with 600 was not so good i didnt find them loud].
2. Denon 1910 + Pure Accoustics
3. Onkyo 608 + Jamo 606.
4. Onkyo 608 + WD 10.7 [Very good deal availble at HI Fi City in Dubai Mall
at Rs.66,000].

For me Denon & Onkyo are the same but the problem is i couldnt audition say 1910 with WD OR Onkyo with DT PRO and also if i opt for say Denon 1910 and WD speakers, i have to buy them seperately and also they will expensive....

The above combination i am thinking of is based upon the audition conducted in open show room and considering my room size what you guys think which combination is ideal for me . May be they might have sounded very good while taking the audition but should not be over specd to my living room.

Pl help me with your valuable sugestions.....

Deshu,

I just responded to your PM today morning. Please check my PM in your inbox. However you did not mention in your PM that youre considering reducing your viewing distance to 5 feet. I recently purchased the 4th package (608 / WD 10.7) from Sharaf DG plus. While I am quite happy with the purchase (and the price which is unbelievable!), I realize after some usage that the Diamond 10.7 needs a lot of air & space to produce decent music; its quite a powerful speaker and a full 3 way at that. 5 feet may be too less space for the 10.7s. Keep in mind that the 10.7 also requires at least 1 feet of space between the speakers back and the wall.

Although the name Pure Acoustics sounds fancy, its a Chinese company and the speakers as far as I know are not up to the mark. Please audition them thoroughly before you consider purchasing them.

If you browse through the forum, you will find varying opinions about Jamo S606. And venkatcr had auditioned those speakers and his review of Jamo 606 & 718 can be found here.

Please do visit Sharaf DG Plus in Times Square, Sheikh Zayed Road. If you speak to them ahead and plan your visit, they will be friendly enough to let you audition the various AVRs & speakers they have. They stock Denon, Marantz & Onkyo AVRs. I have not seen the DT Pro speakers there so you may want to ensure that they can arrange those speakers for you ahead of your visit. Representatives from Hi-Fi City are also available in DG Plus and they are very helpful. If youd like to visit DG Plus let me know and I will share with you the contact details of the HI-Fi City rep who helped me with my purchase.
