HiMedia OWNERSHIP THREAD

yes.. You are right..but than wd tv live is available at $60, which comes to around 3250 and Himedia is available at 8000rs..(my relatives are coming from US and they will bring it from US , not from Ebay.in)
I have read 26 pages and no one has compared Himedia to Wd TV Livedirectly..
I read you said it is far better than WD TV LIVE..but can you explain to me once again for what reasons?
I remember someone has also posted that video quality of wd tv live is better than Himedia..
Can you please elaborate on this?
for 8000rs we get only more features or better quality also?
thanks..

No specific reason except its a popular brand among forum members..
and thisBest network video streamers - CNET Reviews
no mention about xtreamer pro or Himedia..!!!! surprising!!!
can you suggest where can I get Xteamer pro for 100 USD?

Try THIS, its official USA sale site. Though currently it says sold out you can always contact them and inquire about the next shipment. Or try any local electronic shop there in US.

I have bought Himedia HD600c few days back but I am facing below issues.

1. Its not playing ac3 5.1 songs
2. How to download torrent from the player
3. It is skipping you tube videos and how to play them in full screen mode

How to download torrent from player

I do have a smilar clarification. How do we download torrents using himedia?
How do we browse local network files (laptop files) on the himedia? i have shared my laptop hard disk. I can access the files on the himedia from the lap.

Has anybody noticed after playing 3 HD movies non stop the player hanging ?

I did, any tips.;)

The player hangs up quiet often ..i noticed this has to do with either prolonged use causing heating up or cos of improper shutdown due to power failure. Now that i have got a Seagate 2TB baracuda Green HDD lets see how this gonna work.
i am looking for a better GUI interface for this could anyone make/modify the firmware or any chance to get that opensouced xmbc gui port into this.
The torrent downloads when i tried over wifi is giving me only 50kBps max and on pc i get 511kBps (i ve a 4Mbps internet connection) so next thing to hook up HiMedia over Lan and see ..

Download the torrent file to you pc. Connect your player to your pc using wired or wireless connection. Note down the ip address of the player. Enable bittorrent and samba processes in the player. In your pc open your browser and enter the ip address to access the 'Neighbour Web'. Click the 'Bitorrent Download'. Click the 'Add New Torrent' button. Select the torrent file you downloaded earlier.

For browsing your laptop files from your player, you will need to share the folder or drive. Assuming you are using windows 7, right click the folder or drive and select properties. Click sharing> Advanced Sharing >tick 'Share this folder'. Click Permissions > Add. Enter 'Everyone' and then press 'OK'. Again right click the folder/drive, 'security'>Edit > Add. Enter 'Everyone'.

It may be due to the heating. I haven't watched a complete video yet so can't confirm.

You sound like a true techie , we only develop products but not use them ;). Play it and let me know.

Watching 3 hd movies non stop is not possible for me:D. However today I was busy converting my mp4 aac videos to mkv ac3 for around 4-5 hours and I found the HDD temperature to be a little hot. The bottom of the player was hotter than the HDD.

I converted all my aac movies to ac3 format, because I found the avr using only prologic modes and I was not getting true 5.1. I tried both PCM and RAW option for aac audio in the player, but it didn't work. The player was sending only two channel audio.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
