How many of you have PMC speakers?

Any pointers on TL speakers please 🙏 reply
TL offers a fascinating design when compared to standard conventional designs. I recommend adding a power amplifier to your TL speakers; this will create a fantastic pairing compared to using an AVR.

I am currently working on building a speaker for myself, and my friend is assisting me with the measurements and fundamentals. We are looking into an MLTL enclosure, which is a hybrid of TL. The driver is quite unique. ;) I will share the final outcome in a few months.

Running it with a blackfaced Harman kardon AVR 3550 from 2002-2005. 28 amperes high current capacity philosophy amplifier.
Next experiment is running it in dual mono...

Apologies to the thread owner for the unrelated comments.

If you're using it as a home theatre and music system, an AVR is a good choice. However, if your goal is pure stereo listening, don't attempt to modify the AVR. Even with dual mono modifications, it remains an AVR.

When I commented in your thread last week about amplifiers, current draws, and so on, I overlooked an important point. Two-channel amplifiers can provide better sound quality, and the signal path remains clean without interference. In contrast, with an AVR, even if you switch to dual mono, the signal path isn't entirely pure. To achieve that, you would need to remove everything and only use the amplifier board. It's simply not worth it. For me, signal purity is more crucial than output wattage. It's my suggestion.

I have two Harman kardon AVR 3550 s ..two identical blackfaced Harman kardon AVRs

I was thinking about trying this .

One AVR amplifier per channel.

I haven't read the whole thread, but if you can do it with pure signal path modification without any AVR sound processing, then it's good. (That's a lot of labour work.) You can modify it and listen to music if you like the sound. The final result is only for you, so if you like the sound, yes, why not?

but one thing in mind. A power amplifier is not made like an AVR board. For critical listening, the AVR is not even close to a well-designed dedicated amplifier.
