how to reset blackberry 8520

hi all..i have a unused 8520 which i used while working in ibm and they have set it a corporate password which is diff from normal password.. while if one forgets a normal password..typing a wrong password 10 times will do a factory reset. i was able to do that as well. only difference is that due to corporate security it forces me to input a new strong password. my mothers android is down and i wanted this as replacement till it gets fixed. while she can still manage a simple say a three letter password, my phone forces me to put a big one with numbers which is too much for her

Even after doing a factory reset i do not get an option of turning off password. hence any idea how to get around the corporate security?

Is your blackberry still says "IT policy" enabled? (Did you disable it?)
Did you trying disabling the password?
Did you try blackberry software ver6.0 (i am not sure though) to get your password disabled?

hi thx...will try next weekend. for now got a temporary solution. there is an option in the setting which gives the choice of dialling out even when unlocked...so for now there is no need to unlock to make calls. but all said and done, it may be a dying breed, but my five year old phone atleast for doing basic things like calls, music.....no android beats it and i got a nexus 5

It is not a dying breed. In my company, folks are now going back to BB due to the ease of typing and the phone calls... Of course, they use Android for watching photos and movies... But for calls and mails, BB still rules
