I have coupled my JBL stage A 125 C with entry level Yamaha HTR 2071 Receiver. Not getting profound dialogues on Center Channel. Crossover I have set up to 100 HZ on AVR and Level of center channel to +3.
Take the gain up to max if you need to.
This is not exactly a sensitive speaker (88db) so will need some power to wake em up
You can drop the crossover point to 80hz, though it won't do much for output. The speaker can certainly handle that much with ease.
I also recommend lifting the speaker or angling them towards you. Center speakers are meant to be at ear level as much as possible but most setups at home do not allow that level.
Bit surprising that for JBL 125C with wave guide, you have issues on dialogue.
General impression is Klipsch and JBL are very good at that due to their horn design, I may be wrong

There is Enhancer option in my AVR which I set to ON. Dialogues are very less in Streaming platforms. I have Netflix subscription of 4K HDR Dolby Atmos
