probably a very basic question ..

I have 3 HDMI inputs in my old Denon 1610, I need more HDMI inputs - I believe I may need a HDMI switch/splitter to increase it further say if I need 5 inputs. Is it right ? If so, can you please let me know which brand is good ?

Also, if the connection is as below , how do I switch HDMI source :

HDMi source1 -> hub->avreceiver hdmi in
hdmi source2 -> hub -> same hdmi in

how do I switch between source 1 and 2 ?

also, unrelated question does TATA sky hd box now gives audio via STB itself ? I am using coax separately for audio.

Yes you can although there are some limitations. What you need is an HDMI switch something like this
5 Port 1080P Hdmi Switch Switcher Selector Splitter HUB IR Remote | eBay
In this case you can connect upto 5 devices and switch between them through a remote (now you know what I mean... an additional remote). So what you can do is that the device that you frequently use can be connected directly to Receiver but those not so frequent can be through the HDMI switch.

As far as Tata sky HD is concerned, I have Tata sky HD box and I use only one cable between STB and TV (HDMI) for audio and video.

Hope this clears your doubt.

thanks much, tata sky initially I remember there was some issue on getting audio via HDMI , probably now it's rectified then.

thanks much for the reply.

Welcome... don't forget the thanks button !!!

I have been using Tata Sky HD for 4 yrs but never used any other cable except HDMI for video and audio.
