Internet TV's - How to type / search in web browser ?

Hi Guys,

If we buy internet enabled tv's ( Sony W804 / Samsung F6400 etc), do we also need to buy a separate keyboard ?
I was reading somewhere that without a separate keyboard its not quite user friendly to type / search something in browser etc ?

Normally yes. However if you have iOS or android tablet, apps are there to control the TV and its much easier that way.

ok.. so basically we need to buy / have some other device to make any decent use of wifi facility.. hmmm...

Depends on your usage. I find smart wifi capabilities useful as I can wirelessly stream music video etc effortlessly from my mobile and tablet. Sometimes I do use HDMi to connect my laptop to TV, but rarely.
If you are leaving out the wifi option then buy a 15feet HDMi high speed cable and enjoy the TV from the right distance.

Use a wireless mouse worth 700/- and you are done.
Default On screen keyboard from your O/S helps you lot for browsing

correct..apart from dlna streaming and youtube..these smart features are of no use...browsing is real P in A..particularly entering complicated passwords.

I finally bought a Sony w674a 32" today.. wanted to buy the 42" but that was not available in the 4-5 shops I looked and didnt have time to wait as am flying from bkk tomorrow..
