In conjunction with the giveaway thread, I'm putting together a collection of CDs, which serve as an Introduction to Western Classical Music.
A collection of music that spans the major periods of this music - Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, and Contemporary (music by living composers). Should give you a feel for this music, and its progression over centuries of music making.
