Just got a Krell 400xi .... now what?

Let it land up ... I myself don't know much .... heard a closely-similar DIY TL effort at the Mumbai meet .... liked it .... placed order now.

Don't know how it would match up with the amplifier. Thats the big risk!

Come over when this speakers land up at my place .........

Krell 400 does not go well TL speakers. Personal experience tells me this.
Sonosphere has heard a Krell 400xi. Please ask him for details.

You got balls of IRON.. :D
Krells won't match as easily with speakers.

AVD :: Looks like you are going to add more premium amount for Krell. Appreciate your guts...Hope the speaker should match to your taste

I got the NAD C375 amp - very good amp for maggies as per stereophile review. Yet to put maggies to work. Can't figure out room layout with 2 sets of fs speakers. Wife is gonna kill me. Also because there are 2 large sub boxes along the front wall.

I am a bit confused and amazed now with the krell. Is Krell so bad a amplifier that it cant play 95% of any of the commercially available speakers? Which are those 5% speakers that the Krell can play well. Can someone shed some more information / Knowldege on this or are these just perceptions. Is that only Kharma Audio, B&W speakers and the likes are meant for Krell.

Except me & Avidyarthy comments are against those speakers selected..,, not me in the list..:p:p I wish only it suits his taste.

Give your recommendations which speakers will match well with Krell speakers if you have heard the Krell. I have not heard the Krell or even seen the Krell. Are these just perceptions or some practical advise? Better not to get confuse with perceptions.

So Khushrau, that means that PMC's are ruled out too!

Sonosphere is the new 'expert' nowadays:cool: First with Manger, now Krell.

Wish he is more active on the forum so that he can share his 'gyaan' with us fellow FM's

:)

can anyone give me Sonosphere's number so that i can call him for more clarifications if he has experience in this area. I am looking for specifics here and i can see a lot of comments being floated which are very perspective in nature.

Hey hari,

Apart from pulling avid's legs, what we tried to express was that he was taking the opposite approach for buying the system. Ie speakers after the amp. This is bound to narrow down the choice of speakers even if you audition extensively.

Needless to say that is neither perception nor advice. :) Just stressing the point that audition is absolutely necessary especially if you are purchasing the amp first and the speakers next.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
