lag when changing source from yamaha remote

Hi frnds,

I use 10 meters HDMI cable to connect my projector to AVR. when I change the source in yamaha receiver say hdmi 1 for tatasky and hdmi 2 for mediaplayer, I observe 2 sec lag (pj screen goes blue) and then switches. I have MX hdmi splitter for TV and PJ. Is this lag common for a 10ft hdmi cable? I did not see this lag when connected with 5 m hdmi cable when pj is not mounted.
