Hi,
I am planning to buy a LED tv in 40 or 42"..
Shortlisted the above models..
Sony W804A and Samsung F6800 are priced similarly ...
Samsung F6400 is about USD 80 cheaper. and the only difference I am aware is little in the design and motion rate of 500 in F6800 or 400 in F6400..

Considering the above, which should I buy..
Seek advise..

Thanks,A

I would recommend the Samsung models from what you listed. They have more inviting picture compared to. the Sony model.

Between the W800 and F6400, it will be a close call for many. However, I'll go with the Samsung models listed for picture quality alone.

Thanks for the reply Shaiju..
So u mean the Samsung models have better picture quality ? From the specs it seems both Sony / Samsung model mentioned hv similar specs ? can u elaborate more ?..

There is a price difference of nearly INR 8k between 40" F6400 and 42" W804.. so seems Sony is at a nearly 20% premium on the base price of about INR 40k for Samsung F6400 ( in Bangkok)..

Yes, F6400 has better 2D picture quality as per my demo. I haven't demoed 3D.

The black and contrast are better on Samsung. Sony feels a bit dull and can't pull off a dynamic picture. The bright pictures will look great but mixed or darker materials will look washed out.

My conclusion is based on BR demo. I saw only little of DTH HD.

If you are not very critical about viewing angles then the F6400 is superior to W800.

Take a demo and see what you like. Don't trust the specs but the actual output.

Hope it helps.

Any idea of the gaming capability of these samsung sets?
Can they match the sony sets in terms of performance and input lag?

I don't have the slightest clue. Gaming is non existent for me :-) The only games I recollect, if I may call them games, are Road Rash and Mario.

Seriously dunno why am not able to fetch any conclusive data when it comes to comparing LCDs/LEDs. Almost nothing is available on the net. Or maybe am not capable enf to fish them.

Comparatively researching on mobile phones is a piece of cake.

Been trying to compare F6400,F6800, W800, W700 but in vain. Can sm1 tell me which has the best 2D PQ.

Showroom demo is not helping too :(
